Contracts Manager

Description:

Serves as Manager of construction contracts nationwide.

Manages activities related to the terms and conditions of every project-related contract. Serves as primary facilitator/negotiator for company to resolve issues related to terms of agreements. Works directly with contractors and subcontractors to mediate issues.

Perform liaison work with inter-departments to uphold company's contractual obligations and limit liability exposure. Coordinates and assembles comments to all scope, schedule, risk management, and safety concerns. Manages Subcontract Administration, Contract Administration and Compliance.  Monitors receipt of all fully executed contractual documents; Contracts and Change Orders. Participates in:  Weekly Production Meetings, Weekly Financial Meetings, Quarterly Research Party Meetings, Bi-monthly Management Meetings, and Expedition Team Meetings, as requested.

Facilitate the resolution of disputes with sub-contractor to ensure optimal contract compliance.

Plan and conduct meetings to ensure compliance with established contracts and implement new policies and keep Dept Heads abreast of current changes of contracts.

Anticipate customer needs, changes to those needs, and the impact to existing contracts or development of future contracts; monitor inflation and its impact on forecasting.

Evaluate contractor performance through review of reports and customer feedback; resolve issues and implement solutions to address performance.

Qualifications:

Experience, Education & Training:

Requires a minimum of 10 years related experience in the construction industry preferably with a general contractor or structural steel contractor; A  Bachelor's degree in a construction or business related field from an accredited college or university is required. 

 

Specialized Knowledge & Skills:

Knowledge of contract negotiation, procurement, and purchasing systems .  Strong financial acumen as it relates to volume pricing, taxes, interest, surcharges and other business related calculations that measure cost of projects.

Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, customer service, and negotiation skills
Experience in preparing and defending construction claims, including time and cost related changes

Personal computer, phone and fax

Computer software includes: MS Windows; MS Office 2010, MS Word, MS Excel,

MS Outlook, Expedition, Primavera Sure Track; and Fabtrol

 

Work Environment/Physical Demands:

General vicinity of work is indoors in an office environment.  Air/road travel required as needed.
