Description: |
| Technical Project Manager to assist with supporting TelePort vendors, subcontractors, and consultants in support of TelePort Network upgrade of the Iridium Ground Network to prepare for Iridium NEXT constellation. |
Duties: |
- Manage vendor, subcontractor, and consultant relationships.
- Report progress and planning to TelePort Network Manager.
- Report status to other Iridium managers, associates and subcontractors.
- Make decisions with minimal guidance.
- Assist with defining requirements for subsystems and components.
- Verify subsystem and component compliance.
- Provide technical guidance and management for RFP's.
- Provide management for future subsystem component acquisitions.
- Verify contractual compliance for related projects.
- Interface to NEXT Program Management and Systems Engineering.
- Work on special projects.

Qualifications: |
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in project management and telecommunications.
- Experience in satellite communications and/or telecommunications.
- Experience with the design, development and management of real-time telecommunications systems is desirous.
- Candidate must be a quick learner, self-motivated and able to work unsupervised.
- Candidate must have good interpersonal relationship skills and must have good written and verbal skills.
Education and Experience:
- Candidate must have a college degree (engineering preferred) or equivalent experience
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Project Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- A minimum of 5 years experience in telecommunications systems (preferably satellite systems) is desired.
- Experience in network engineering, development, integration, and test is strongly desired.
- Experience with telecommunication protocols.
- Familiarity with software programming languages.
- Familiar with or experience in any of the following systems: Oracle, mySQL, Unix (solaris), apache
- Security Clearance is desirable.
