Description: |
Responsible for the repair and maintenance of all mechanical equipment including but not limited to diesel and gas driven semi-trucks and trailers, welding machines, electrical generators and air compressors. |
Duties: |
| Repair and service of engine systems described above, as well as hydraulics, pneumatics and electrical 12VDC, braking systems, air conditioning systems (minor), cooling systems. Order and stock parts for equipment and systems above. Maintain an organized and clean work area to ensure a safe and efficient work zone including proper disposal of wastes. Maintain maintenance records on all equipment with regards to service schedules, inspections, and OTR truck reports both in house and at job sites. Communicate with vendors to ensure proper items are purchased and correctly invoiced. Outsource equipment repairs if needed and track appropriate documents. Interface with co-workers and management to ensure that proper work is performed effectively and cost-efficient. Qualifications: |
High School Diploma or Equivalent. At least five (5) years of experience in the repair of pneumatic, mechanical, and electrical tools and equipment. Two (2) years of course work from an accredited vocational/educational institution may substitute for two (2) years of the required exp. Demonstrated knowledge of basic electrical codes. Proven ability to repair electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical tools such as: hand-held tools such as wrenches, drills, mags, screw-drivers, and other applicable items needed to repair equipment. Computer testing equipment. May be required to operate a company vehicle. Work is mainly done outdoors without climate control. Must be able to lift at least 50lbs repetitively throughout an 8-10 hour days. Most of the work day will be spend standing and or walking.
